We would like to thank all of our GivingTuesday donors.  With their help we raised $3,949 and were awarded an additional $1,100 of matching funds from Home Instead Charities.

Thank you for helping us make this service as accessible and affordable as possible to allow caregivers and families to take a needed break for rest and to look after themselves.

Our Caring Centre offers overnight respite 24/7, 365 days a year. The need for this service does not stop and neither will we in advocating for and raising funds to support this crucial service in our community.

We are continuing to raise funds for our Centre during the holiday season.  If you missed GivingTuesday, and would like to make a gift to help support our overnight respite service, you still can by making a donation to ESS.

Donations of $10 or more are eligible for a tax receipt.

GivingTuesday is a global day for giving and volunteering, taking place each year after Black Friday. This GivingTuesday, November 30, 2021, we are raising funds for our overnight respite program in our newly build Centre.

Caregiving for a family member with a memory-related impairment such as Alzheimer’s or dementia is often a full-time job. Many face, or risk facing, caregiver fatigue and burn-out without options for reliable, affordable and accessible support systems when they need it the most. Our vision is to make this service as accessible as possible to help as many caregivers as we can, so their loved one can age in place, in the comfort and familiarity of home with their family.

This #GivingTuesday, we are raising funds to support the operations of our overnight respite program (Caring Centre) located in our newly opened multi-purpose Centre providing services for caregivers, seniors and older adults with disabilities in Etobicoke and the Greater Toronto Area.  Our overnight respite program (Caring Centre) gives caregivers the opportunity to take time for themselves, to rest and recharge for a few days, a weekend or couple of weeks as they take a break from their responsibilities as a caregiver.  

Your #GivingTuesday donation will go towards supporting operational expenses of our new Caring Centre location. This will allow us to continue operating this program at a low-cost, so caregivers have a place to turn to, and to offer reduced rates for families who require it.
