Program Description

Our award winning Caring Centres offer overnight respite care for seniors and adults who have memory related impairment, a chronic illness or a physical disability. This program supports short-term respite for caregivers and crisis admission. We accept clients throughout the Greater Toronto Area.

Our Centres provide caring, emotional and professional support from Personal Support Workers in a safe, secure and comfortable environment. Nutritious meals and snacks are provided. Fully-furnished, our Centres provide all of the conveniences of home: kitchenettes, shared dining and living spaces, private and semi-private bedrooms and accessible washrooms. Individuals staying in our Caring Centres also have the opportunity to participate in our Adult Day Services program at no additional charge for recreation, activation and socialization.

Our overnight respite services remain open as an essential community service, with only private rooms currently available for booking.  Due to COVID-19, modified therapeutic recreational activities and socialization will be provided to individuals staying in our Centre.

With everyone’s health and safety in mind, and to reduce the risk of exposure and transmission of the virus, all staff, clients and caregivers are being pre-screened before service delivery or being admitted into our Caring Centre.  Our Personal Support Workers are required to wear PPE when delivering care, such as surgical masks, eye protection, and gloves as appropriate.

An assessment by an ESS Case Manager is required to determine eligibility for this program. Please call our administrative office at 416-243-0127 ext. 503 for further information.
