About our Centre and why we require an emergency generator:
Our Centre provides daily programs and overnight supports for caregivers, older adults with memory-related impairments and disabilities. A generator is essential to help keep the vulnerable community members who stay with us during the day and overnight safe, with access to heat and food in case of a power outage.
Caregivers rely on our overnight respite service when they need a break to rest and recharge for a few days, a weekend or a couple of weeks. Our Centre provides a comfortable, caring and secure place for their family member or loved one to stay, and offers caregivers the opportunity to take time for themselves with peace-of-mind.
The onsite day program offers a friendly and safe place for older adults living with memory impairments to spend the day connecting with peers, making friends and enjoying activities together.
Your Give65 donation will help us to support the purchase and installation of an essential generator for our Centre to continue operating safely without interruptions in the event of an emergency; as well as to address other needs.
The impact of our Centre and its services:
“Your program has been amazing for my Mum and my family. We were able to provide the best care for Mum and ourselves with the help of the ESS Respite Care Centre. Thank you so much for all your help over the years!” – Caregiver
“My family and I would like to express our gratitude for the care and compassion that ESS Support Services provided to my mother during the pandemic period. As the primary caregiver for my mother with a mid-stage dementia, we were desperate to find a short stay for her since last year. The staff were life savers, they are so wonderful, attentive, and supportive. It was also a huge relief for my 83 year old father, both mentally and physically. Thank you again for giving us the peace of mind that she is well taken care of, loved, respected, and nurtured every single day in ESS. For this we are extremely grateful and wanted to share our appreciation.” – Mei
