One of the highlights of our Annual General Meetings is the presentation of the Laura Kennedy Sapphire Award of Excellence. Laura was our agency’s first Board Chair, a long-standing volunteer and a key supporter of ESS. The award in her name is presented to exemplary front-line staff.
This year we are honored the direct service staff that, throughout the Pandemic, continued to provide direct person-to-person services and supports. Despite the potential risks, they never missed a beat. Our drivers, PSWs involved in Food Security, Assisted Living, Overnight Respite Care, Health and Wellness, Case Managers and Adult Day programming staff were all willing and committed to continuing to provide these services.
During unprecedented times – and with commitment, strength and passion – their work to provide essential services to our clients, was truly exemplary.
When so many vulnerable seniors were isolated and alone, these people were true difference-makers.
Congratulations, and thank you for all your efforts!
Nine front-line direct service staff representing our various programs and services accepted the award on behalf of all direct service staff at ESS.
