Jerry Howarth announced as Master of Ceremonies and Nurse Next Door as Presenting Sponsor
On Sunday, October 22, 2017, ESS Support Services will celebrate the 10th Anniversary of its signature Dine for Dignity Fundraising Gala. ESS is excited to announce Toronto Blue Jays Radio Broadcaster, Jerry Howarth, will be joining the event this year as the Master of Ceremonies and Nurse Next Door has committed their support as the Presenting Event Sponsor ($2,500).
ESS has been a mainstay and an important community support system in Etobicoke for 34 years – just as Jerry Howarth has been a household name to baseball fans in Canada for over 36 years. “We are so grateful for the support and interest we have received from Jerry Howarth and Michael Lu of Nurse Next Door, Etobicoke & West Toronto. This being the 10th anniversary, our hope is to make this Gala a special one and to raise as many funds as possible. We believe their involvement in our Gala is a step in the right direction to achieve this and to help give us the means to continue providing essential services to the people who need them the most.” – Dolores Ellerker, CEO, ESS Support Services.
ESS and Nurse Next Door, Etobicoke & West Toronto, have worked together on various initiatives and look forward to continuing to supplement each other’s services in efforts to reach as many seniors and families as possible. “ESS has proven programs that not only promote the well-being and health of seniors, but also helps them remain independent in their homes and community. This aligns with my personal vision of aging as well as my company’s approach. I am grateful that I have the opportunity to support a wonderful organization that has been delivering excellent programs for seniors for over 30 years.” – Michael Lu, Owner of Nurse Next Door, Etobicoke & West Toronto.
In its last fiscal year, ESS supported over 2,200 seniors and 3,000 caregivers. Fundraising events such as Dine for Dignity are a very important source of funds that help ESS ensure service continuity and that its programs are accessible and of a high quality of care. Proceeds from the Gala directly benefit the seniors and caregivers using services and programs such as Adult Day Programs for frail seniors with cognitive impairments, Seniors’ Luncheons, transportation to medical appointments and grocery stores, group fitness programs, along with in-home and extended overnight respite.
