✨ Art Therapy: A Creative Path to Well-Being ✨
🖌️It is more than just making art—it’s a powerful tool for communication and self-expression, especially for older adults experiencing cognitive changes. 🎨Trained art therapists use various creative materials to help individuals share their thoughts, memories, and emotions in a supportive environment.
Art therapy students from The Toronto Art Therapy Institute partnered with ESS Support Services (South Etobicoke Adult Day Program) in July-December 2024 to bring meaningful artistic experiences to seniors. Using a Person-Centred Care Approach, they facilitated engaging sessions with painting, pastels, mixed media, and more. Older adults explored new ways to express their life stories and connect with others through these creative outlets. ❤️🖼️
The incredible therapy provided to our thankful clients increased socialization, stress reduction, confidence, and brain stimulation.
