Celebrating 42 Years of Making a Difference
We’re thrilled to share our Annual Report for the 2024-2025 fiscal year, marking a remarkable milestone – our 42nd anniversary since ESS first opened its doors.
This past year has been truly special. After navigating some challenging times, we’ve experienced remarkable growth and development that has energized our entire team. It’s been wonderful reconnecting with valued clients who’ve returned to our services, and we’ve been equally excited to welcome new faces as our programs continue to expand to meet the growing needs in our community.

Building on Our Vision: 2024-2027 Strategic Plan Highlights
Throughout the recent fiscal year, we’ve made meaningful strides toward the ambitious goals outlined in our Strategic Plan. Here’s what we’ve accomplished together:
Putting Clients and Families First. We’ve strengthened our client and family-centered approach by seamlessly integrating our case management system and launching comprehensive Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion training – starting right at the top with our Senior Management Team.
Embracing Innovation and Partnership Change can be exciting when it leads to better care! We’ve launched a groundbreaking multi-agency pilot program that brings wrap-around palliative care directly into clients’ homes. Plus, we’ve deepened our collaborative relationships through active participation in partnerships and Ontario Health Teams.
Championing Our Amazing Team: Our people are our greatest asset, and we’ve demonstrated this through focused recruitment efforts, enhanced recognition and rewards programs, expanded career development opportunities, and increased leadership visibility on the front lines. Because when our team thrives, our clients benefit.
Working Smarter, Not Harder. We’ve adopted cutting-edge technologies to enhance our staff’s performance and service delivery. A game-changer this year was implementing GrantAdvance, which has transformed how we manage foundation grant applications – making the process smoother and more successful.
The year ahead holds even more promise as we continue to build on these foundations and expand our impact in the community we’re proud to serve.
