Help older Etobicoke community members safely and reliably access healthy food.
Mark your calendars: Give65 July 13 – 16, 2021
During the pandemic ESS has been helping older community members, who are at greater risk of severe illness due to COVID-19 and are experiencing other barriers, to safely and reliably access food.
We are raising funds during Give65, a 65-hour online fundraising event by Home Instead Charities, to address food security needs of older adults living in our Etobicoke communities.
How ESS is addressing food insecurity:
- We’re transporting fresh meals, food hampers and groceries door-to-door to isolated older adults and seniors together with local partners and through our own grocery delivery program.
- We’ve created our own mobile food bank to order, prepare and deliver food hampers to seniors experiencing barriers in accessing other food banks.
Our goal is to raise $7,000. Every donation counts and helps us be eligible to potentially receive up to $5,000 of matching funds and a $2,500 bonus from Home Instead Charities. Learn more.
You can help support the operations of our food and meal delivery programs now and post-pandemic by making an online donation to ESS during Give65.

“The ESS food delivery program has been a lifeline for me. The cheerful and reliable staff at ESS have become friends as well as ‘essential workers’ to me week after week, taking and delivering my grocery orders. I am so grateful and can’t thank them all enough.” – Gail, ESS client
“The delivery of my groceries practically every week for the past year or so has been a great help to me. Not only do I enjoy speaking with you when I call to give my order but the driver and gals who make the deliveries couldn’t be nicer. You brighten my week. Thank you so much.” – I. H., ESS client
