Executive Announcement – ESS has a new CEO!

The Board of Directors of ESS Support Services (ESS) is pleased to announce Alison Coke to the position of Chief Executive Officer effective November 19, 2018. Dolores Ellerker, ESS’s past CEO, has retired after 33 years of building ESS to its current success.

imageAlison has a broad background in both not-for-profit agencies and government, where she has been successful in driving strategy and providing thoughtful leadership during periods of change. Most recently, she was with the Ministry of Housing in risk management and program compliance. Her not-for-profit senior leadership roles with both Second Base Youth Shelter and Scarborough Housing Help Centre are close to her heart in helping provide community services to those in need.

She has a strong history of giving back to others through her volunteer efforts. Most recently, she volunteered for FoodShare Fund Development Committee and Scarborough Youth Substance Abuse Program Committee. Alison has chaired Toronto Youth Shelter Interagency Network and also chaired Queen’s Park Child Care Centre. She was the founding Chair of the Community Health Management Board/Parish Nursing Program.

Alison has a Masters in Development and Trade Economics from Oxford (United Kingdom), a Masters in International Studies from The American University (Washington, D.C.), and a Bachelors of Arts in Political Science and Economics from Queen’s University (Kingston, Ontario).
